The new administrative building takes on the footprint and rhythm of the community services centre building. It acknowledges the existing heritage building through the stereotomic base. The tectonic crown celebrates the geometry of the police emblem and the surrounding industrial buildings with saw-tooth roofs.

    01. The SAPS Langlaagte Police Station was retrofitted into an existing residential heritage building. The site currently hosts a Community Services Centre, Veterinary Clinic & K9 dog unit, offices and exhibit stores. The extension of the existing program is to accommodate a new administrative building, veterinary clinic, cell processing area and a cell block.

    02. The entrance guardhouse acknowledges the heritage building through its materiality, however, the form looks to the contemporary design of the Admin Building.
